the following information about this class:
- Each
AP problem needs to be done on one side of a piece of paper.
They must be in numerical order with all work shown.
All explanations needed must be written in complete sentences.
All number lines must be labeled.
For this chapter only #18 allows for the use of a calculator.
All work must be shown up to the point of the use of the
calculator for calculator problems.
- AP
problems are graded and worth 10 points each. They are always due at
8:20 am when class starts.
They may not be turned in late. If you are absent they must be
turned in the day you return to school even if it is a B-day.
If it is a B-day give them to Miss Gina by 8:20 am and I will
get them from her the next day.
If you are absent due to a field trip or athletic event, your
AP’s (and any other homework) must be turned in before you miss
class.
- You
may work with your classmates on your AP problems.
However, you may not copy from their paper.
This means you can ask them for help.
It doesn’t mean you can ask for their paper to “look” at.
This will result in both you and that student going to honor
council and receiving a “0” for that entire assignment.
- Barron’s
Book is the AP review workbook you bought along with your textbook and
all work should be done in the actual book.
The book has all the answers and the explanations for each
problem.
It is up to you to check your answers and go over their
explanations if you missed the problem. Each student must have their
own copy of this book.
- Quizzes
and Tests are timed so you must work fast enough to finish.
If you do not finish you will not be able to stay after class,
the problem will be marked wrong.
You are preparing all year for you AP test and all parts of
this test are timed.
- I
am only at school on A-days this year so that is the only day I can
answer questions for you.
However, the room will be open for you to meet with your
classmates to work together.
If you need help on a regular basis this class is not for you.
- Grades
are weighted by a factor of 1.1 if and only if your actual average is
at least a “C” average. Any grades below a C are not weighted for
the term.
