Students
in Grades 1-4 will enjoy meeting MENC National Standards for Music this
year. Using Music Express magazines as
curriculum tools, we will enjoy new music, activities, stories, lessons,
listenings, and more. ·
The BROADWAY BEAT – Students
will learn a song from Broadway in each issue especially arranged for young
voices. By the end of the school year,
we will have learned six Broadway songs to perform in our Jubilee Concert! ·
John Jacobson has written a wonderful
story of learning, discovery, and meeting life’s challenges with “Walk with
Me, Tulitha.” Expressive readings,
colorful artwork, and music will enhance each of the five chapters. ·
Listening lessons offer
active participation for students as they listen to quality recordings and
follow along with student listening maps.
Highlighted composers include George Bizet, Edward Grieg, Leroy
Anderson, Scott Joplin, and others. ·
WORLD CELEBRATIONS will offer
students a chance to “travel” the world without ever leaving the classroom by
studying and singing music from around the globe. We will travel to Mexico to celebrate
Mexican Independence Day, Australia for Australia Day, and many others. The
possibilities are endless this year! |
