Viking Invitational GA Children's Home, Macon Hot, humid first race, with 17-18 schools participating.

Stratford Invitational Stratford Academy, Macon There were 20 AAA/AA schools represented at the Stratford Invitational. Overall, the Heritage runners exerted good efforts on a very difficult course.


This was a first-time race for several varsity runners: D. Martin, J. Hassanally, J. Cullen Dean, and L. Shaeffer. The Varsity boys came in 8th as a team.

The Varsity Girls team came in 6th overall. A. Khan came in 9th overall out of about 120 runners.


The JV girls all improved in their effort level over last week. R. Powell came in 3rd overall, while the team finished 6th overall.


The JV boys were represented very well again by T. Brown.

Augusta Prep Invitational
(Varsity only)
Augusta Seventeen schools from Georgia and South Carolina were represented in this varsity meet.
Our girls team placed 5th overall, and was the top AA team! Out of a total of 94 runners, the Hawks top finishers were A. Khan in 9th place, E. Crosby in 32nd, L. Powell in 39th, C. Parker in 45th, and K. Martin in 72nd. Most of the girls had season personal bests.
Our boys team placed 9th overall and was also the top AA team. Out of 117 runners, J. Hassanally was our top finisher in 33rd place, closely followed by D. Martin in 37th, J. Prock in 45th, L. Shaeffer in 65th, H. Heindel in 65th, G. McGreggor in 98th, (I. Dunn did not participate due to illness) All but one of our boys set PR’s (personal records).

Mercer University Invitational GA Children's Home, Macon Our team struggled in humid conditions and as a result of a hard training week, but nonetheless we had some notable performances. Junior A. Khan finished in sixth place for varsity girls, and seventh grader R. Powell finished third for Middle School girls. Kudos to eighth grader S. Engel who ran her first 3.1 mile race in JV division and finished first!

Heritage Classic Invitational Home 17 schools and 350 runners were represented on this overcast, cool day.
Varsity Boys: Senior I. Dunn was our top runner, finishing in 22nd place and breaking 20 minuntes (19:56). Sophomore J. Prock also had a strong run, finishing 24th in 20:17.
Varsity Girls: Junior A. Khan finished 10th in 21:55. Sophmore E. Crosby (23:54) and Junior L. Powell (23:26) ran course PRs.
JV Girls: Seventh grader R. Powell ran a PR and finished second in 12:02. Eighth grader S. Engel finished in the top ten (13:21). The JV girls team took second place overall.
JV Boys: Seventh grader T. Brown (13:25) and eighth grader J.D. Uglum (14:02) both had strong runs, setting course PRs to date.

Great Fall running weather, though the course was a little wet.  Nine schools were represented, but not all of them had full teams. Junior A. Khan won her first region cross country race. Sophomore E. Crosby and Junior L. Powell were also All-Region. Senior I. Dunn earned his highest finish (second place) at region, while Sophomore J. Prock and Freshman D. Martin also earned "All Region." Freshman J. Cullen-Dean set a PR by almost three minutes! The JV girls won region, with seventh grader R. Powell taking home her first individual victory. Most JV girls had huge PRs on our home course.  JV Boys T. Brown and J.D. Uglum both finished in the top ten and set PRs.

State Meet GA Children's Home, Macon

The weather was cool and misty for most of the day. Most of the varsity team showed strong performances. A. Kahn ran a great race to become the third Heritage girl to win a state championship individual title in cross country. Way to go!  E. Crosby (12th place) ran a seasonal best in her first state meet. L. Powell finished 15th, the highest finish for her in her state meet experience.
The boys team finished second overall!  I. Dunn was our top finisher, just out of the top ten.  J. Hassanally, J. Prock, and Junior L. Shaffer ran seasonal bests.  
Some JV runners set personal bests on the course as well. R. Powell, S. Engel, T. Brown, and J.D. Uglum ran season bests.
