Intramurals 2010

The Heritage Intramurals basketball program is in its nineteenth year. Teams are made up of 4th - 6th grade coed students and are coached by varsity basketball players. Intramurals provide not only a grooming opportunity for future athletes - the vast majority go on to play interscholastic sports - but also a leadership opportunity for the varsity student-coaches.

The program begins with a one-week mini camp. Coaches lead athletes through drills, stations and scrimmages, getting them in shape and scouting them for the draft. The draft is exciting; everybody gets a spot on a team. Games are played on Saturday mornings, but the culminating championship match is played during school hours and enjoyed by the entire student body. Everyone gets in the spirit for Intramurals!

Championship Game
March 12 (Fri)	10:00	Orange	Atlantis	In a great game, in front of a roaring crowd of fans, Orange defeated Atlantis 37-19. Orange players wereCole Jones, Hamp Smith, Edie Haugen, Cole Ayers, Mary Helen Jeffreys, Charlie Yates, and Jack Payton. They were coached by Garrett Jones, Candler Rich, and Joe Bonner. Atlantis players were Miki Patel, Allie Browning, Chase Shuman, Lawson Harris, Zofia Powell, Kirby Arnall, and Logan Betts. They were coached by Katie Kaufmann, Emily Gray Powell, Lydia Powell, and Maggie Ginn. Congratulations to both teams!

* The divisions are named for Stroud Lycans, class of 1987, the only Heritage athlete to ever have his jersey retired.
