Home The Hawks kicked off the season with tournament win! In the Heritage-hosted round robin softball event, Heritage defeated Oak Mountain 6-4 (winning pitcher: K. Rawlinson), beat Pinecrest 11-3 (winning pitcher: J. Thames), and trounced Calvary 14-2 (winning pitcher K. Rawlinson). Go Hawks!

Mt. Vernon Away Heritage had another fantastic win 14-5 in five innings. A. Windom led the Hawks with 6 RBIs. Pitcher K. Rawlinson had 8 strikeouts, 5 hits and no walks.

Flint River* Away Heritage suffered its first loss 3-11 to the defending state runner up. The game was close until the rain came in the third inning, making it difficult to handle the ball. J. Thames and K. Dieckmann had outstanding hits for the Hawks.

Strong Rock Home The Hawks played good defense, keeping their opponent scoreless in the first three innings, but ending by losing 0-5 to Strong Rock.

LaGrange* Home Heritage lost to one of the best teams in the state. We played good defense in the middle of the game, keeping LaGrange scoreless during the 3rd and 4th innings. K. Kaufman made three good catches in left field, but the opposing pitcher was excellent. We lost 0-14 in five innings.

Pinecrest Away The Hawks defeated Pinecrest 10 - 2. Winning pitcher, Sophomore J. Thames, threw seven strikeouts and only two hits. She also scored two runs and had two RBIs. Other notable highlights: Sophomore K. Roy had two hits (one double), an RBI and two runs. Senior A. Fernander hit a triple and scored a run. Other runs were scored by eigth grader A. Windom, Junior A. Avery, Seniors K. Rawlinson, S. Knox, and S. Sherrod.

Arlington* Home The Hawks lost 10-0 to the defending state AA runner-up. Facing one of the best pitchers in the state, we had five hits, but were unable to convert those to runs. We played good defense early in the game, keeping Arlington scoreless in the first two innings.

Oak Mountain Home Heritage won a close game 4-3. Senior pitcher K. Rawlinson had nine strike outs and gave up only one hit. We scored three runs in the third inning thanks to the hitting and base running of L. Perdomo, J. Thames, clutch hit by K. Roy and A. Windom.

Pinecrest Home The Hawks won 8-0! Senior K. Rawlinson pitched a no-hitter, striking out nine players and only walking three. The Hawks scored two runs in the first inning when Thames led off the game with a single and Roy followed with a rip to the fence. In the second inning, Thames drove in Sherrod with a hard line drive that was caught by the first baseman. Knox drove in Faircloth in the third. Thames, Roy and Windom scored three runs in the fourth inning to break the game open. We also played good defense, including a great play by Roy at shortstop.

Away Heritage defeated Oak Mountain 5-2. Pitcher K. Rawlinson struck out nine players, walked two, and gave up only four hits. Runs were made by J. Thames (three runs), K. Roy, and K. Rawlinson.

LaGrange* Away Heritage played shorthanded against one of the top teams in the state, and lost 8-0. Everyone played hard, especially L. Perdomo and R. Faircloth, who both played the entire game without a break.

Strong Rock Away Strong Rock proved to be a tough opponent again, defeating the Hawks 13-1.

Arlington* Away The Hawks had a difficult time hitting against one of the best pitchers in the state and lost 9-0.

Piedmont Home Senior Day - Heritage will miss our six seniors: K. Kaufmann, S. Sherrod, K. Dieckmann, K. Rawlinson, A. Fernander, and S. Knox. We had a tough week playing four tough teams in four days. The Hawks lost against Piedmont 9-0, finishing the regular season 8-9.

State Playoffs Away The state tournament was rainy, windy, and cool. We played tough but lost to Bulloch Academy on Monday morning. Monday afternoon we started a game in the rain against Southwest Georgia. Tornado warnings and lightning postponed the game until Tuesday. We hit well, but lost 8-0. Each girl worked hard this season and we are proud of them. Go Hawks!
