At the Oak Mountain swim meet, Heritage swimmers broke 5 school records! Thirteen schools and over 200 swimmers participated in the meet.

The Varsity boys finished third overall among the 13 teams. Our Medley relay team set a school record and beat the old one by 3 seconds with a time of 2:04.64. The relay swimmers were T. Brandner, M. Harmon, B. Dudley, and J. Riggs. The Varsity Boys' Freestyle relay also set a new school record, knocking 2 seconds off their time (1:47.64 down from 1:49.18). The swimmers were T. Brandner, D. Breyne, M. Harmon and J. Riggs.

Brandner also set three other school records: in the 500 free, with a time of 6:01, beating the old record of 6:51.84 by whopping 50 seconds; the 200 free, swimming in 2:04.43, almost two seconds off the record of 2:06.28; and the 100 Breast, setting a new record of 1:14.98, besting the old record of 1:19.20.

Atlanta Girls' School Invitational Georgia Tech

Varsity Girls broke the school record for the Freestyle Relay with a time of 206.65. Team members were L. Brandner, R. Powell, K. Abrams, and K. Pepper. Brandner qualified for state in all of her events and broke the school record for the 50 Free. Powell State qualified and set personal bests in all of her events. Abrams State qualified for the 500 Free. New swimmer M. York is continuing to lower her personal best times.

Varsity Boys have broken both Medley and Free relay records by half a second. Relay Members are J. Riggs, D. Breyne, M. Harmon, and T. Brandner. Brandner State qualified in both of his events. He dropped his 200 Free time by two seconds for a new school record and also re-set the school record in the 500 Free, dropping by 15 seconds to 5:46.52. Harmon State qualified as well. He had a personal best of (5:58.40) in the 500 Free, then broke the school record in the 100 Backstroke by 3 secs to 1:10.67. Riggs State qualified and had a personal best for the 200 Individual Medley, the 100 Free, and the 100 Backstroke. B. Dudley qualified for State. W. Newman State Qualified for the 200 Free, setting his personal best. J. Lucas had a personal best in the 50 Free as well.

JV Girls
H. Minor State qualified in all three of her events: 50 Fly, 50 Back, and 50 Breast. She set a new school record for the JV in the 50 Breast. G. McCammack State qualified and had her personal best times for the 50 Free and the 50 Back. A. Browning State qualified and set her personal best for the 50 Free and 50 Fly.

JV Boys
G. Warren State qualified in three events: the 100 Individual Medley, the 50 Breast, and the 50 back, in which he also had his personal best. M. Burns State qualified in three events: the 100 free, 50 Free, and 50 Back, with personal bests in the 50 Free and the 50 Back.

GISA State Swim Meet Georgia Tech

Out of 34 events in the GISA State Meet, Hawks swimmers made it to the podium 15 times!

Varsity Girls:
The Medley Relay team broke the School record with a time of 219.83. Congratulations to team members K. Pepper, L. Brandner, and first-year swimmers M. York, and R. Powell.

Powell smashed her own School record on the 500 m Freestyle, which is now 6:59.09.

Brandner holds the School records in the 50 m Freestyle, the 100 m Freestyle, the 100 m Butterfly, and both relays.

Pepper, K. Abrams, and York were on the Freestyle and Medley Relays

Varsity Boys:
The Medley Relay came in fourth overall and set a new School record with a time of 2:00.57. Relay members were T. Brandner, M. Harmon, J. Riggs, and first-year swimmer D. Breyne.

The Freestyle Relay team also came in fourth overall and set a new School record with a time of 144.26. Relay members were Brandner, Harmon, Riggs, and B. Dudley.

Brandner set 3 new School records in his events. He was fourth in the 50 m Freestyle and set a new School record of 24.46, fifth in 100 m Freestyle, and set another School record of 53.54, and fifth in the 100 m Breast Stroke, setting a new School record of 1:14.20.

Harmon had an incredible meet! He was fourth in 200 m Individual Medley, then placed sixth in the 500 m Freestyle with a time of 5:49.63. The 500 Free is a long event – 20 laps of the pool. 10 minutes later he went on to swim the 100 m Back Stroke and broke the School record with a time of 1:08.69. He made the podium and placed eighth overall.

Dudley also had a great meet. He broke the School record in the 100 m Butterfly with a time of 109.92, placing seventh overall. He also beat his personal best time by 16 seconds in the 200 m Freestyle, coming in at 2:17.63.

W. Newman also had a personal best in the 200 Free, cutting five seconds off his best time.

Riggs had a personal best in the 200 IM and in the 100 Freestyle.

D. Breyne, first-year swimmer, had a personal best in the 100 m Freestyle and the 100 m Breast Stroke.

Junior Varsity
Congratulations to our JV swimmers for an exceptional season and State Meet. It is a huge accomplishment to even qualify for this meet.

This season the JV Girls relay team of H. Minor, K. Rasnake, A. Browning, and K. Crowe broke the school records for the Medley Relay and the Freestyle relay!

G. Warren earned 8th place in 50 m Breast Stroke and had a personal best in the 100 m Individual Medley and the 100 m Freestyle.

M. Burns got 4th in 50 m Back Stroke, 7th in the 50 m Freestyle, and a personal best in the 100 m Freestyle.

H. Minor got 6th place in the Individual Medley, 6th in 50 m Butterfly, and 7th in 50 m Breast Stroke. She now holds the school record in all of these.

A. Browning earned a personal best in the 100 m Individual Medley, the 50 m Butterfly, the 100 m Freestyle, and was the top point earner for the JV girls this season.

K. Rasnake earned a personal best in the 100 m Individual Medley and the 50 m Breast Stroke.
