The Heritage School's tennis program is highly accomplished. The Lady Hawks won state four times in a row (2003-2006) and were in second place once (2007). The boys have won state twice (2007-2008) and placed second in 2009. During the past 8 years, we have fielded several individual winners as well. Go Hawks!

The Hawks swept LaGrange in Region 4-AA play. The boys team went 5-1, including 8-0 wins from singles players J. Sterrey and A. Carter, as well as a pair of 8-1 victories by fellow singles players G. Okun and T. Pettit. In doubles play, T. Wheat and G. Parker won 8-3, while J. Cranford and J. Weinand won 8-1.

The girls' wins included an 8-0 shutout by I. Dennis, and 8-3 and 8-1 wins by singles players A. Frederking and E. Crosby. In doubles play, A. Mayen and A. Farr teamed for an 8-1 win, L. Sherrod and K. Roy won 8-2, and M. Ireland and M. Renaud won 8-1..

Heritage swept Flint River in Region play!

The boys' team won 7-1. In singles play, J. Sterry won 8-0, while A. Carter and G. Orme each won 8-1. In Doubles, G. Parker and T. Wheat defeated their opponents 8-1, while the teams of T. Pettet/A. Pfundt and J. Wienand/J. Cranford won 8-0. R. Jackson and S. Furrh won a tough game 8-6, and E. Pal and A. Jewell fell to Flint River 8-6.

The girls won 7-0. Singles victories came from I. Dennis (8-0), A. Frederking (8-1), and E. Crosby (8-5). The Lady Hawks doubles teams shut out their opponents: A. Mayen/A. Farr (8-0), L. Sherrod/K. Roy (8-0), M. Ireland/M. Renaud (8-0), and K. Pepper/L. Perdomo (8-0).

The Hawks are undefeated in region play, with only one region match to go.

Furtah Away The Hawks teams concluded an unbeated season in Region 4-AA with 5-0 sweeps of Furtah Prep! Both boys and girls will head to the GISA Class AA Team Tennis Tournament in Augusta. In girls singles, E. Crosby and A. Frederking won 8-0, as did doubles team A. Mayen and A. Farr. Doubles players L. Sherrod and K. Roy won 8-1. In boys action, singles players J. Sterrey, A. Carter and W. Farr won by 8-0 shutouts. Doubles teams G. Parker/T. Wheat and T. Pettet/A. Pfundt both won 8-1. More details in the Times-Herald.

Apr 25 (Mon) Individual State 2nd Round Macon, GA Junior, I. Dennis, won the AA Individual State Girls Singles Championship, and sophomore, J. Sterrey, won the AA Individual State Boys Singles Championship. Both athletes have had undefeated seasons, and both were State semi-finalists last year. Junior, A. Carter, and sophomore, G. Parker, made it to the State semi-finals in boys doubles.
Apr 27 (Wed) Team State Augusta, GA The Heritage boys swept Frederica 3-0 to become the Boys State Champions. The girls played Monsignor Donovan from Athens and won 3-2 in a very exciting, nail-biting match. The match came down to doubles team, Amanda Frederking and Ellie Crosby, who won the third set 6-4, making the girls State Champions as well. Coach Gail Jones is the GISA State Coach of the Year.
