Philosophy

The Heritage School is a non-sectarian, co-educational, day school founded on Judeo-Christian principles with community support, to provide a program offering a personalized educational experience for children of strong character and academic promise, regardless of race, sex, color, religion or ethnic origin.

We value individuality. We recognize unique strengths and needs of every child and work with those assets to create enthusiasm for learning and a path for individual success.

We value an intimate environment. We pride ourselves—both students and faculty—on knowing each other by name and not getting lost in the crowd. This familiarity feeds a sense of belonging, resulting in a climate of easy, engaging communication.

We value self-respect. Our students create a community of trust and mutual respect through a self-administered Honor Code. Peer accountability is responsible for a high degree of pride in personal honor, integrity, and trust. We nurture and encourage students to discover and realize their intellectual and creative potential, to rely on their own judgment and initiative, and to develop an awareness of how they learn best.

Through the development of their individual talents and a commitment to community service, our students become more sensitive and compassionate human beings and contributing members in our democratic society.
