Why does Heritage need Annual Giving?
The cost of quality education that Heritage provides each student is not completely covered by tuition. The Heritage Fund subsidizes tuition and helps fill the "Gap" between tuition income and the actual cost of educating each child. The Heritage Fund is an annual campaign whose success is dependent upon the voluntary contributions of parents, alumnae, faculty and staff, grandparents, parents of alumnae, and friends.
Why doesn't the school charge full tuition?
High tuition drastically reduces the applicant pool and admissions suffer as a result. If tuition were raised to cover the cost of all programs, many families could not afford a Heritage education. This would mean a drop in enrollment, a cut back in programs, and large tuition increases to fund operations.
What does my contribution to the Heritage Fund do?
From Early Childhood to twelfth grade, each student benefits directly from your generosity. Your gifts fund exceptional learning opportunities for your child by supporting technology, media center resources, classroom materials, programs, athletics, and campus maintenance.
How much should I give?
Heritage needs as many parents as possible to bridge the "Gap"; however, we value your participation at whatever level is comfortable for you. The only gift too small is no gift at all.
How can I make my gift?
The easiest way to make your gift is online. Just go to the "Make a Gift to Heritage" button above and at the top of any page on our website and follow the easy directions to make a credit card donation online. We accept Visa or MasterCard. Heritage also welcomes donations by cash or check - simply contact the front office at 770-253-9898 and request a Heritage Fund donation form. If you wish to make a planned gift or transfer of stock, please contact Donna Stuart in the business office.
Is my gift to the Heritage Fund tax deductible?
Yes.
Does Heritage qualify for a matching gift program?
Yes. Heritage is an independent Early Childhood through Grade 12 school, and many corporations have matching fund programs for such institutions. Please check with the Human Resources department of your company to see if they have a matching gift program.
Do foundations and corporations look at Annual Giving figures?
Yes. Foundation and corporations look at participation figures from parent, faculty/staff, Board, and alumnae constituent groups when Heritage approaches them with grant proposals. High participation from the school family sends a strong message about the Heritage community to foundation and corporations.
